Ms. Heinzen works plein air whenever possible, especially when traveling. She has worked in locations including New York city, New England, the National Parks, Ireland, Spain, France and New Zealand.

This past summer, Ms Heinzen taught two plein air, watercolor workshops at iconic Pemaquid Point, Maine, hosted by River Arts in Damariscotta.  Riverartsme.org

As an exhibitor, Ms. Heinzen has received awards from many organizations.
They include the Northeast Watercolor Society, the Long Island Museum, the
Salmagundi Club in Manhattan, the Roslyn and Nassau County Museum of Art,
National Association of Women Artists and the National Art League in Douglaston,
New York. Having vacationed in the mid-coast Maine region for decades, Mary
Ann Heinzen is delighted to be here year-round, exploring and painting the wealth
of subjects Maine offers.

Mary Ann Heinzen has been working in watercolor for over 40 years. She’s a full-time artist and devotes her life to perfecting her craft.  She works in both representational and abstract styles, granting her a lot of diversity. . For many years, Mary Ann Heinzen worked as a watercolor instructor at the National Art League (NAL) and a plein aire class at Rock Hall Museum in Lawrence, New York.
